Academics
Northside Preparatory Academy offers a well-rounded K–8 education that builds strong academic foundations while helping students grow into confident, capable learners. Through engaging instruction in core subjects and enrichment programs like physical education and career exploration, students develop critical thinking skills, curiosity, and a love of learning. As they prepare for high school, middle school students also begin exploring future goals and building the life skills needed for long-term success.
Powered by AMP/edu

Our school is powered by the AMP/edu ecosystem — a unified, modern learning platform that strengthens classroom instruction and enhances every student’s learning experience. AMP brings together curriculum, tools, and resources in one cohesive system, helping teachers deliver engaging, consistent instruction and giving students confidence with a well-supported, high-quality education.
Core Subjects
English Language Arts
Students build strong reading, writing, and communication skills through engaging lessons that support growth at every grade level. Early instruction focuses on phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension, while older students explore more complex texts and writing styles. The program helps students grow into thoughtful readers and expressive writers.
Math
Our Math program develops both foundational skills and critical thinking. Using visual tools and hands-on practice, students learn to solve problems, apply logic, and understand mathematical concepts. As they progress, they build confidence in more advanced math to prepare for high school coursework.
Science
Science instruction emphasizes curiosity, observation, and real-world application. Students explore life, Earth, and physical sciences through hands-on projects that build analytical thinking and scientific understanding. Experiments and interactive lessons encourage students to connect learning to everyday experiences.
Physical Education
Our Physical Education program helps students develop coordination, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits. Through structured games and physical activities, students build fitness, improve focus, and learn the value of perseverance and sportsmanship.
Career Technical Education - MS
Middle school students begin career exploration through the Career-Based Intervention program. This course helps students develop essential skills and start thinking about future goals as they transition toward high school. Lessons emphasize responsibility, planning, and professional behavior in real-world settings.

Instructional Model
Our school is built on a strong foundation of high expectations for academic achievement for all students. Our instructional model has four key components to achieve strong academic results:
Individualized Instruction
Students participate in a variety of learning activities each day that individualize instruction for each subject area. Students receive whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction with teachers, technology and other curricular tools.
Properly Certified & Licensed Teachers
Our teachers meet the requirements set forth by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): Bachelor’s degree, grade-level teaching license/certificate & ability to demonstrate subject area expertise. Our teachers are supported by trainers and participate in continuous, research-based professional development. Our teachers are accountable for student learning and rewarded for high quality performance.
More Time on Task
Our students receive double the instruction in ELA and Math to provide a strong foundation for all learning. Beginning with full-day Kindergarten, our school also follows a longer school day and school year than many other schools.
Short Cycle Assessments
Student knowledge of academic standards is assessed formally and informally in short cycles by each teacher. Our teachers adjust class-level and individual instruction based on student performance in these frequent intervals.
